The 20th Anniversary Archive & Revival — a living memorial to a one-of-a-kind Appalachian weekend and the mountain dancer who started it all.
JescoFest 2026 is a commemorative archive and revival site marking the twentieth anniversary of the original JescoFest music and arts festival, held August 26–27, 2006 in Hinton, West Virginia. The 2006 festival was a grassroots fundraiser organized to benefit Jesco White — the Boone County mountain dancer made famous by the documentary Dancing Outlaw — bringing more than two dozen bands, artists, and outlaws together to play pro bono on a waterpark stage beside the New River. This site preserves that weekend: the full band line-up, hundreds of archival photographs, original flyers, press clippings, and a guestbook where attendees can record their memories.
The archive is built for everyone who was there, everyone who wished they had been, and everyone discovering the Dancing Outlaw for the first time. It serves Jesco's fans, the musicians who donated their sets, the people of Hinton, and the broader Appalachian community that rallied around him. Beyond nostalgia, the site documents a real piece of Southern West Virginia cultural history — a fundraiser born from loyalty, duct tape, and a love of mountain grit.
